Operation Christmas Child
November 16-23, 2009
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry organized by
Samaritan's Purse to give Christmas presents to children
around the world who would not receive anything. Churches
around the country pack up presents donated by their people
and ship them to the OCC who also includes Biblical
literature in the language of the child.
So the real need that we help provide is two fold. First,
we ourselves have been packing up boxes filled with
presents. Secondly, we have become a relay center for all
the surrounding area. Any churches in the area who
participate will drop off their boxes at our church and we
will relay them to the sorting and shipping headquarters for
the region. Its a big operation that requires many of our
people to volunteer as packers, but it is worth it knowing
that kids around the world receive a gift from Jesus and His
Church this Christmas.
Dropping Off?
If you are dropping off more than 50 boxes, please call ahead so
that we know to expect you. If you have less boxes, feel free to just drop
in at a convenient time to you; if you want to call ahead, that's fine too!
