Get Some Good News

The Best Things in Life are Free

As the saying goes, the best things in life are free. And as it turns out, they are right. God has great news for us, He wants to set us free from our sin and adopt us into His family! All humanity has a problem, a curse. We were born as sinners and it says in the Bible "all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Despite our evil hearts, God wants to clean us up and restore the friendship that we broke.

What It Takes

A rich man once asked Jesus, "What must I do to be saved?" And you might be asking the same question... what does it take? Do I need to be a good person? Do I need to go to church, be baptized, give money? Jesus answer to that rich man was, "leave it all behind and follow Me." We need to believe Him, lay our old way at His feet, and allow Him to lead us the rest of our life.

What it takes you is nothing but faith.  What it took to be saved is something much more than that.  God can't just forgive you, you see, His justice requires our death.  What it cost for your salvation is Jesus' death.  He, unlike us, led a perfect life and offered Himself as the sacrifice for our sins.  God tells us through the apostle Paul that "God made Him who knew no sin (ie Jesus) to become sin so that we could become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

I'm Ready to Be Saved

Prayer is a fancy word for something simple: talking with God.  Just like you talk with your best friend, God longs to listen to your voice.  To begin a friendship with God, just pray something like this:
  • "Jesus, I'm a sinner."
  • "I know that You died for me."
  • "Forgive me and wash away my sin."
  • "Come into my life and let me live for You."
