Exposing Our Hearts

- Sermons - Big 10

Preached at the Sunday Morning service on October 10, 2010 by Pastor Ray Bertolet.
Part of the Big 10 series.

How do you define “liar?” The Urban dictionary says: someone who tells fibs in order to save themselves embarrassment or penalty. Michael Jackson. Webster says: A person who tells lies. No one likes to be lied to and yet how many people would find it acceptable to lie to avoid punishment or a difficult situation.

Today we are going to a look at the final two commandment and see how they could challenge us and show us how we should live.

Exodus 20:16-17 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor." NASU

Pastor Ray – Harry and I just listened to your message. Again, very soul searching and thought provoking. I think of the Scripture passage that says “Examine yourself and see if your in the faith”. This is a daily walk – keep on being filled with the Spirit – confessing sin and renewing right fellowship with the Lord. Good exhortation! Blessings, H&S

  2. Donna Coverdale says:

God wants us to Himself, with no idols before Him. This message helps us to realize how easy it is to become distracted from the things of the Lord in our daily lives.
