You Got to Meet

- Sermons - Friends

Preached at the Sunday Morning service on November 14, 2010 by Pastor Ray Bertolet.
Part of the Friends series.

Remember when you were just a kid and found some exciting new flower (or bug if you're a boy). You quickly ran around wanting to show it to everyone. Nothing was going to stop you from sharing your something special.

Pick someone famous, how would you respond if they came to your town? Would you want others to see them as well?

So now, why have we stopped getting exciting and showing people how are life is different because of Christ?

John 1:29-3429 The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 "This is He on behalf of whom I said, 'After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.' 31 "I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water." 32 John testified saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. 33 "I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. 34 "I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God." Pastor Ray – Harry and I just listened to your message. Again, very soul searching and thought provoking. I think of the Scripture passage that says “Examine yourself and see if your in the faith”. This is a daily walk – keep on being filled with the Spirit – confessing sin and renewing right fellowship with the Lord. Good exhortation! Blessings, H&S

God wants us to Himself, with no idols before Him. This message helps us to realize how easy it is to become distracted from the things of the Lord in our daily lives.
