Honoring Mom

- Sermons - Miscellaneous

Preached at the Sunday Morning service on May 8, 2011 by Pastor Ray Bertolet.
Part of the Miscellaneous series.

When our children our weeks old all they have to do is smile and you will be happy. When they reach the kindergarten age a simple stick figure drawing puts us on cloud nine. What will it take to be honored during the later years of life?

Will the gifts that you give you mother today bring her delight for all times? Why not present to her something that will delight her completely. Maybe you can no longer present something to your mother, so how can you honor her? Today we want to consider a few ways we can honor our mother.

Prov 6:20 23
20 My son, observe the commandment of your father
And do not forsake the teaching of your mother;
21 Bind them continually on your heart;
Tie them around your neck.
22 When you walk about, they will guide you;
When you sleep, they will watch over you;
And when you awake, they will talk to you.
23 For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light;
And reproofs for discipline are the way of life

  1. Sandra Workman says:

    Pastor Ray – Harry and I just listened to your message. Again, very soul searching and thought provoking. I think of the Scripture passage that says “Examine yourself and see if your in the faith”. This is a daily walk – keep on being filled with the Spirit – confessing sin and renewing right fellowship with the Lord. Good exhortation! Blessings, H&S

    God wants us to Himself, with no idols before Him. This message helps us to realize how easy it is to become distracted from the things of the Lord in our daily lives.
