Spotting a Fake

- Sermons - Rotten Apples

Preached at the Sunday Morning service on June 12, 2011 by Pastor Ray Bertolet.
Part of the Rotten Apples series.

There are times in life when it is hard to tell the difference between a weed or a flower. Sometimes, we think something looks so pretty only to find out it truly is a weed. It may even have a fancy name but it still is a weed. Peter is declaring sometimes, just like weeds some prophets serve no good purpose, they are false and deceptive.

2 Peter 2:1-3 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you

  1. Sandra Workman says:

Pastor Ray – Harry and I just listened to your message. Again, very soul searching and thought provoking. I think of the Scripture passage that says “Examine yourself and see if your in the faith”. This is a daily walk – keep on being filled with the Spirit – confessing sin and renewing right fellowship with the Lord. Good exhortation! Blessings, H&S

  2. Donna Coverdale says:

God wants us to Himself, with no idols before Him. This message helps us to realize how easy it is to become distracted from the things of the Lord in our daily lives.
