The Blessing of Rest

- Sermons - Gospel of Mark

Preached at the Sunday Morning service on December 11, 2011 by Pastor Ray Bertolet.
Part of the Gospel of Mark series.

When I was younger and we go to play a sports game in the neighborhood it is the one who bring the ball who gets to set some of the rules. If you didn’t keep them happy they could take their ball and go home. They assume they are in charge because they are setting the rules. The Pharisee are beginning to display this type of attitude with regards to Jesus. They figure they know all of the law so they are going to enforce them.

  1. Sandra Workman says:

Pastor Ray – Harry and I just listened to your message. Again, very soul searching and thought provoking. I think of the Scripture passage that says “Examine yourself and see if your in the faith”. This is a daily walk – keep on being filled with the Spirit – confessing sin and renewing right fellowship with the Lord. Good exhortation! Blessings, H&S

God wants us to Himself, with no idols before Him. This message helps us to realize how easy it is to become distracted from the things of the Lord in our daily lives.
