Shedding the Demons in Our Life

- Sermons - Gospel of Mark

Preached at the Sunday Morning service on January 29, 2012 by Pastor Ray Bertolet.
Part of the Gospel of Mark series.

During my high school years, I was not much of a runner. I could imagine I was going to win a race but I was always in the back of the pack. I just didn’t have the ability necessary to run face. No amount of training was going to get me to be number one. Yes, I certainly would be able to improve my speeds but human effort was only going to go so far. What I needed was a “new body.” One that was designed for speed. Today we introduced to a demon possessed man and we see that no amount of human effort could set him free from the demons. So what can set us free from our sins which bind us to our past?

Pastor Ray – Harry and I just listened to your message. Again, very soul searching and thought provoking. I think of the Scripture passage that says “Examine yourself and see if your in the faith”. This is a daily walk – keep on being filled with the Spirit – confessing sin and renewing right fellowship with the Lord. Good exhortation! Blessings, H&S

God wants us to Himself, with no idols before Him. This message helps us to realize how easy it is to become distracted from the things of the Lord in our daily lives.
