Checking for Pride

- Sermons - Book of Daniel

Preached at the Sunday Morning service on February 24, 2013 by Pastor Ray Bertolet.
Part of the Book of Daniel series.

If we are willing to be honest with ourselves, when we see someone who cheats or lies get ahead we will be upset. After all, we work harder, longer and with integrity and they got the promotion and not us. We want to go out into the parking lot and damage their car, but then we know that really isn’t us. However, we still struggle being happy for them and now we also force to follow their lead and instructions. Nebuchadnezzar has been on a roll, God told him he was the head of gold, then he builds a huge idol and nothing happens to him. Now, God gives him some dreams concerning the future. Why God, why him?

Pastor Ray – Harry and I just listened to your message. Again, very soul searching and thought provoking. I think of the Scripture passage that says “Examine yourself and see if your in the faith”. This is a daily walk – keep on being filled with the Spirit – confessing sin and renewing right fellowship with the Lord. Good exhortation! Blessings, H&S

God wants us to Himself, with no idols before Him. This message helps us to realize how easy it is to become distracted from the things of the Lord in our daily lives.
